Please allow approximately 1-1.5 hours for the eLearning completion.

This course will introduce students to drone based ultrasonic testing utilizing the sophisticated Elios 3 drone system with UT payload for precise and efficient inspections in confined spaces.  Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Explain the various safety elements and pre-flight checklists associated with operating the Elios 3
  • Describe the various elements of the drone and their purposes
  • Pilot the Elios through MFE’s on-site drone obstacle course, navigating through confined space with dust, smoke, protruding objects, and other confined space scenarios
  • Mange the lighting system within the Elios to navigate and inspect areas of interest with limited lighting
  • Explain the importance of using couplant along with precautions to take while using the smart couplant dispenser
  • Identify the proper modular probe head and properly install them
  • Install the cleaning module to the drone, along with proper use of the module
  • Perform UT inspections utilizing the Elios 3, including creating reports

After satisfactory completion of this course, you will receive a certification of completion by MFE Inspection Solutions.  This certification is a requirement for the warranty of any Flyability equipment.
