What are the main advantages of eLearning courses?

How long do I have access to course content?

Learners have 365 days from the date of purchase to access course content, assessments, and related materials.

I see "contact hours" noted within the catalog listing. What does that mean?

Contact hours represent the total run time of the course plus three minutes per quiz or exam question. Completion time may vary based on prior knowledge and familiarity with the materials. If the course contact hours differ from training hour requirements in standards, learners must complete additional hands-on training with their employer under Level III’s supervision.

Are course purchases transferable?

Course purchases are non-transferable per ASNT policies.

How will the course guarantee that the learner has completed the required time?

All courses are built with safeguards to ensure full participation:

  • Content is presented in a locked format, preventing skipping or fast-forwarding.
  • Videos do not display a timeline, requiring full engagement.
  • Courses include quizzes after sections to assess comprehension.

To progress, learners must answer quizzes correctly. If a quiz is failed, learners:

  1. Review the preceding section in full.
  2. Retake the quiz with randomized but related questions.

Once passed, a certificate of satisfactory completion is generated.

Are the available courses valid for Level III recertification points?

Courses awarding recertification points include:

  • Eddy Current Level II - Surface Scanning and Aerospace Component Inspections
  • Radiographic Testing Level II
  • Ultrasonic Testing Level II
  • Phased Array (all three courses)
  • Time of Flight Diffraction

Each course listing details eligibility for Level III recertification points.

When will I see my points on my MyCert transcript?

Completion data is uploaded to MyCert on the first Tuesday of every month. Please allow up to 48 hours for updates to reflect on your transcript.

What are the accepted payment types?

We accept:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Discover

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

Refund requests are accepted within two business days of purchase, provided the course has not started. Once a course is started, refunds are not permitted. Email education@asnt.org for requests.

Will the learner have unlimited attempts to pass the final exam?

Unlimited attempts are allowed for all courses except:

  • Phased Array 80 Hour
  • Time of Flight Diffraction
  • Eddy Current for Aviation

For these exceptions, three (3) attempts are allowed. If unsuccessful, the course must be repurchased for additional attempts.
