Course Overview

This advanced-level course is designed for experienced thermographers seeking to deepen their expertise in infrared inspection and analysis. Building on foundational knowledge, the Level 3 course focuses on complex thermal analysis, advanced heat transfer principles, and the development of professional reporting and diagnostic skills.

Participants will explore topics such as quantitative thermography, emissivity challenges, error sources, and environmental influences on thermal measurements. The course also emphasizes the interpretation of thermal patterns in complex systems, including electrical, mechanical, and building envelope applications. Students will learn how to design inspection procedures, establish severity criteria, and apply standards relevant to condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.

A key component of this course is the development of critical thinking and decision-making skills. Through case studies and real-world scenarios, participants will refine their ability to diagnose faults, recommend corrective actions, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

By the end of the course, attendees will be equipped to lead infrared programs, mentor junior thermographers, and perform high-level inspections with confidence and accuracy.

This course is intended for thermographers who have completed the Level I and Level II Thermography courses and have 3–5 years of documented thermography experience.
