Course Overview

As Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), and Computed Tomography (CT) continue to replace conventional film radiography across aerospace and advanced manufacturing, many organizations struggle to develop inspection personnel who are not only certified but truly competent in these technologies.

This webinar will examine common gaps in CR, DR, and CT training programs and explain why traditional radiography training models often fall short when applied to digital systems. Attendees will gain insight into how industry standards such as NAS-410 and applicable ASTM digital radiography and CT standards define competency expectations, and how those expectations translate into effective training structures.

Drawing from real-world aerospace implementation experience, this session will outline best practices for developing training programs that emphasize image science, system behavior, image quality control, and application-specific interpretation—rather than software operation alone. The webinar will serve as a technical foundation for more comprehensive CR, DR, and CT training programs hosted through ASNT.

Upon Completion, Learners Will Be Able To:

  • Identify critical competency gaps in current CR, DR, and CT training programs.
  • Translate Digital Radiography and CT standards into practical training requirements.
  • Apply best-practice training principles for CR, DR, and CT programs.
