Course Overview

This 24-hour course is designed to provide students with knowledge to work towards a Level III in digital RT techniques or to expand their understanding of digital radiography or computed tomography for RT Level II or III technicians. It is intended for those who are Level II RT technicians or higher with a foundational understanding of radiographic testing techniques.

This course is also an excellent complement to the RT Certification Prep Course, offering additional insight into more advanced RT techniques. Topics covered include digitized film, digital radioscopy, digital detector array (DDA), computed radiography (CR), and computed tomography (CT).

Upon Completion, Learners Will Be Able To:

  • Explain the basic elements of radiographic images and elementary image processing
  • Outline the fundamental operation of each technology, including the relevant standards, process controls, and personnel certification requirements
  • Describe the application of image quality theory to digital radiography
  • Explain the application of digital reference images
