Course Overview

This immersive, activity-based Train the Trainer course is designed to help professionals build the confidence and skills needed to deliver engaging, effective training for adult learners. Many instructors default to “death by PowerPoint” or simply read from slides— resulting in passive sessions with limited learner retention. This course equips participants to move beyond that approach by leveraging their expertise to create dynamic, interactive learning environments that promote deeper engagement and long-term knowledge transfer. Through group collaboration, individual activities, and a final presentation, learners will explore instructional methods grounded in adult learning theory, strengthen facilitation and presentation techniques, and design learner-centered experiences that support real-world skill application. Whether you're new to training or looking to refine your approach, this course provides the tools and strategies to lead impactful, inclusive, and professional learning sessions.

Upon Completion, Learners Will Be Able To:

  • Apply adult learning principles to support learner engagement, autonomy, and relevance across diverse learning contexts
  • Differentiate between instructional approaches (pedagogy vs. andragogy; instructor vs. trainer vs. facilitator) and select methods aligned with adult learner needs
  • Incorporate foundational learning theories (behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism) into course delivery strategies
  • Design and evaluate learning objectives using Mager’s Model, ABCD, and SMART frameworks, and align them with Bloom’s Taxonomy
  • Contribute to instructional design and implementation through the ADDIE model by aligning content, delivery, and assessment with learner outcomes
  • Facilitate training sessions using learner-centered techniques, including effective questioning, engagement strategies, storytelling, and clear presentation skills
  • Manage classroom dynamics professionally, including pacing, group interaction, difficult learner behaviors, and various question types
  • Deliver ethical, inclusive, and industry-relevant training while maintaining professional boundaries and supporting learner success
  • Demonstrate coaching and feedback skills that support hands-on learning and reinforce technical accuracy without diminishing learner confidence
