Program Overview

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week, the ASNT Foundation and the American Welding Society (AWS), in collaboration with Jobs for the Future (JFF) and SAFAL Partners, are hosting a free, one-hour webinar to discuss the impact of apprenticeships on skilled trades and the nondestructive testing (NDT) profession.

During the webinar, we'll discuss: 

  • The newly approved NDT National Guidelines developed by the ASNT Foundation.
  • Resources from USDOL, including Apprenticeship.gov, funding options, and support for implementing your own apprenticeship program.
  • The importance of apprenticeships in enhancing skill development and preparing a well-trained workforce in NDT and skilled trades.
  • Insight into structured, hands-on training programs and their impact on career growth and develop talent pipelines.
  • Guidance on launching NDT apprenticeship programs, covering national guideline standards and available technical assistance.
  • The role of Centers of Excellence and intermediaries like JFF and SAFAL Partners in promoting diversity and expanding apprenticeships.

As Workforce Development Manager, Beonica plays a crucial role in advancing the field of nondestructive testing (NDT) through partnerships with the United States Department of Labor to establish NDT apprenticeship standards, helping colleges grow their programs, and supporting businesses in expanding their talent pipelines


Joe Young: AWS

Joe Young is the Senior Workforce Development Manager at the American Welding Society. As a welder, fabricator, educator, inspector, and small business owner, he is committed to championing the next generation of welding professionals.


Nichole Bentley: SAFAL Partners

Nicole Bentley is a Registered Apprenticeship Subject Matter Expert with SAFAL Partners. She works full time in workforce development to help companies develop talent pipelines and help her community turn jobs into careers.


Brent Weil: Jobs for the Future
